Clueless Confessions

April 23, 2014 by Mariah 24 Comments

Clueless Fashion Victim

  • I’m extremely un-trendy. I like what I like and I like more classical pieces. I actually wear out clothes, and mourn when some pieces have to go. I hate that I can’t just have copies made. If I was very wealthy I would have my own custom clothes, and I would have multiples of the same piece in different colors.
  • I feel like very few people can pull off the jumpsuit or the jumper. I just hate this trend.
  • I’m totally clueless about styling my hair. I don’t know how to use a curling iron or curlers. I can’t really braid. I don’t understand bobby-pins.

someecards.com - I basically have 3 hair styles, straight, wavy and homeless ........

  • Why are women’s clothing sizes so jacked up? I want to order my size and know it will fit. I can try on the exact same pair of pants in Gap in the exact same size and they fit differently. What the hell! Why is clothing shopping not more advanced? I should be able to plug-in my measurements and a robot in China makes my jeans to those specifications…is someone working on making this happen?

Mad Men Short Shorts

  • I hate when I see guys in shorts that are too short, it makes me want to gag. I’m also not a fan of men wearing jewelry beyond a wedding ring (of course). 🙂

Now, go visit Kathy’s blog to see who is confessing today…or whatever.

Ha! I busted up laughing about men in short shorts making you want to gag. That’s how I feel about men wearing sandals. Unless you have groomed toenails (which most don’t) please don’t make me look at your feet. Yuck

Seriously, bobby pins are the hardest thing to do! No matter what, my hair weighs them down and I can’t use them properly. All the girls that just throw their hair back with them really puzzle me. I think the clothing manufacturers purposely make the clothing sizes different, to either get you hooked on their clothes because a smaller size than normal fits you, or you have to be a slave to their pieces because they’re the only ones that fit. And there’s my conspiracy theory for the day 🙂

I agree with so many of these! Love to buy the same thing in multiple colors, hate when clothes wear out or get ruined, and don’t get the jumper fad. Would love to be able to order custom clothes. BTW, there are places online where you can put in your measurements and get custom pants/jeans etc. made to fit. I have looked into this but not tried it.

    I am very untrendy.

I basically just wear my jeans and a t-shirt. If I want to shock my husband and get his attention, I’ll put on a dress.

I would probably live in much more causal clothing if I didn’t have to dress for work.

Bobby pins are a mystery. How do girls make it look so easy? They just stick them in and they stay in place.
I can’t do that for the life of me!

I completely relate to this! I am definitely ensemble-y challenged! I wear a lot of black and I love Kate Spade bags. That’s it, that’s all I’ve got. Boring and my hairstyle goes from ponytail, super flat and wind blown. Ah well, it’s what is on the inside that counts, right?!?

girl! just stumbled upon your blog – your life is my dream, i think. i just want to eat all the things.

i remember in weight watchers, people always saying “eat to live, don’t live to eat” and i was like that is some wack shit, so i quit.

also, i too do not know how to braid. and i’m not even talking about the complicated french thing.

I could never pull off a jumper! It would looks so hideous on me. I’m also horribly untrendy, especially since I work from home. Most of my time I rock a lazy casual look (ie. pajamas and sweat pants). I’m sure my boyfriend is so fond of this look.

this is making me want to watch clueless again. it’s been too long. i’m definitely not the trendy type… although sometimes i look at other people who look like they can effortlessly put ensembles together and I envy them. i prob need a personal shopper to help me out. i actually feel like i’m doug and i can wear the same thing everyday. 😛 if i like something, i buy double or in several colors and end up only wearing that.

i personally like jumpers when people pull it off, and I’ve actually them look nice on a lot of people out in LA. But then again people in LA really pay attention to how they look.. so I bet they just know how make a lot of things look nice on them. I own a short one but it also kinda looks like a short dress. 😀

Ah, you crack me up! I’m also hair challenged (though have dreams where I wake up with perfectly styled hair, so maybe that counts)?

Yes to ALL of these confessions! It is so beyond frustrating when I go to a few different places and I’m a different size in each one! And omg I totally hate the jumper trend too…I feel like they should be banned for adults.

I am hair-inept too, but practice with a curling iron and it isn’t that hard. I promise! I don’t care for man jewelry either, but I will add a watch to your list. No bracelets, though. And I CANNOT clothes shop online. One store’s large is another store’s small. No thanks!

I don’t know how to do anything with my hair. I wash it, comb it, and go. Or I put dry shampoo in it and go. I don’t even blow dry it.

Jumpers should be outlawed. They’re for babies and toddlers. Camel toe for everyone else.

I often will buy multiples of something if I like it because I also get so sad when I have to get rid of something. At the moment I have two pairs of shoes in my closet the same except on is black and one is purple and I have only worn the black and the purple get to be saved!
