Happy Sunday! I have tomorrow off, so that makes it an extra happy Sunday for me! You know what else makes it a happy Sunday? Linking up with Miriam and Shannon for our third week of The School of Life. So here goes:
- Absence makes the heart grow fonder. At least when it comes to cats. Eddie, can be very sweet and loving, but it is always on his own terms and it is usually not continuous. He may greet me in the morning, but then takes up a spot in one of his morning window stations. At night he is usually interested in a little snuggle but then he has bug hunting, more window time, or claiming his spot on the bed to attend to. Since our return from the trip, Eddie has been with me non-stop. The first night we were back, he slept on top of me…his usual spot is at the bottom of the bed. Every time I have sat down he has been back on my lap, purring and snuggling. Even when I made muffins he joined me in the kitchen, sitting on the kitchen stool watching me. P and I choose not to test the theory for ourselves, as we are very happy to be attached at the hip, but I’ll keep Eddie’s lesson in mind if anything changes 😉
- This is less of a lesson as it is a universal truth. When you need an item, you can never find anything that interests you. When you are trying to save money, you will see at least 10 items you fall in love with. P is so traumatized by the Spring 2012 search for black flats, that anytime I express interest in an item, he says “why don’t you just go ahead and get that” 😉
- Wear sunscreen. Wear sunscreen. Wear sunscreen. I’ve gotten to the point that I even need sunscreen while enjoying my brand of outdoor activity. Both P and I got a little too much sun yesterday while enjoying the below. I can’t remember needing sunscreen while being outdoorsy before. It’s a sad state of affairs.
What lessons did you learn this week?
