It’s Wednesday, and that means we are linking up with Kathy from Vodka and Soda! Today, I’m going share with you some questions that roll around in my head from time to time.
- How were the pyramids built? It’s amazing what was accomplished before modern technically, just the pure engineering of the buildings are amazing, not to mention getting the raw materials and construction. I’ve always been fascinated by the ancient Egyptian culture. When I was little, I use to say I wanted to be an Egyptologist, that was until Indiana Jones ruined the whole appeal with snakes and spiders. I would love to be able to get a personal peek into that ancient time period.

- Is there life on other planets that resembles life here on Earth? I find it hard to wrap my brain around the fact that there are billions of galaxies in the universe, and not just billions but 100s of billions, with who knows how many planets in each. I am in awe of people who study and understand the physics…I’m not even smart enough to begin wrapping my mind around it. Honestly, I think the odds have to be in favor of other planets with intelligent life, there is no way out of the billions and billions of planets we are the only ones. - What did happen to those dinosaurs? Was it climate change, meteor, virus? They roamed the whole earth and now they are just gone. Are there dinosaurs roaming around one of those billions of other planets out there? Thinking about Earth existing in a completely different state than we know it so fascinating. Could you imagine if we had pet dinosaurs or had to battle predators…how weird would that be!?!

- What happens when you die? I think this is a common one and I think even if you are firmly set about “where” you go…don’t you wonder about the logistics of it all? Do you know right away you are dead? Does it even matter; has all consciousness ceased to exist? There are just so many possibilities about how it all works and what happens! In The Brief History of the Dead, people basically move to a second life after death and they remain there until there is no memory of them left on Earth. Once anyone who has ever met them or was told a story about them ceases to exist they move on. I thought that was an interesting take on the after-life. I’m not set in one theory over the other, and I’m in no particular hurry to find out 🙂
Do these questions ever wonder through your mind?
There definitely has to be something else out there, it’s a huge expanse. But I generally lean towards it not being like Earth. The odds are almost non-existent that there would be something else out there exactly like us, exactly at the same stage.
These are great questions. I do believe in life on other planets. I mean if there is life on Earth then why not on other planets. After my grandma passed I thought a lot about what happens to us when we go to the other side. I have an idea but no one will ever really know for sure. And I agree I am not in a hurry to find out.

Fredrik went to Egypt and saw some pyramids and said it was really amazing to see them in real life but I am like you and am like but bugs and things! heheheheh
Woooo, you’re totally blowing my mind with this post. I mean, I’m feeling somewhat stupid right now because I think my most complex thought today was about frozen yogurt :))). The theory on the afterlife, gosh, that’s a pretty cool/crazy concept. Who knows but as you put it, I’m in no hurry to find out. And I definitely don’t think we’re alone in the great big scheme of things. There’s going to be other life out there.
I really hope there’s other life out there in the universe. Wouldn’t it be awesome to someday meet these other folks? It makes you wonder if they know about us, and are laughing at us b/c we’re not smart enough to find them! haha I love this list of confessions, it’s so refreshing to have real thought-provoking stuff to read 🙂 good one, girl!

I almost regularly think about the universe and try to comprehend how massive it is. Then we find out there are OTHER universes out there. Wait, what? I wish I could grasp what they mean when they say 9 billion light years away. Like, how do they know? How do you measure that? I don’t know what a light year is let alone 9 billion. It’s crazy, yet fascinating.
I barely leave the house as it is… if there were dinosaurs out there I would NEVER leave! hahaha
I also wonder about these things from time to time!
Oh my god! Do we share a brain wave possibly?! Or maybe I’m not as weird as I thought. Either way, I watched a gripping documentary of how different theories of the pyramids were tested out. So interesting. As far as life on other planets goes, I believe that there is life, but I don’t necessarily think that they have big vacant black eyes and a egg shaped head. As far as life after death, I don’t know what I think. I know what I was raised to think and then I know some logic, and faith and logic don’t really go together. Surprisingly, even though I have mixed feelings or confusion with this issue, I’m not afraid to die. Sounds awful, but true. I just don’t want to die in pain if at all possible, thank you. Wouldn’t it be creepy if there was a whole other parallel world out there with people just like us? I try not to think about things like that too much!
omg! I’ve wondered the same thing about death. They also have a really show about funerals now and it FREAKS me out!
I agree with you, I think there is more life out there in the universe. We simply can’t be the only ones, it makes no sense!
Life after death – the eternal question. Honestly, I don’t know what to believe. I don’t believe in the heaven and hell scenario, but all the other scenarios may be possible: reincarnation? Nothingness? Eternal peace? Who knows.
I definitely think there has to be life on other planets. I mean, there are soooo many galaxies. There has to be other planets out there capable of sustaining life. And I totally want to know how the pyramids were built…. and maybe Stonehenge.
I.LOVE.THIS.POST! I suddenly have the urge to just have a 1 on 1 conversation with you about this lol (in a non creepy way lol) These questions and topics always boggles my mind and absolutely fascinates me. My personal thoughts are: I don’t think were alone in the universe. There is an after and past life.. and I don’t know what happened to those dinosaurs. I lean more towards virus and some type of climate change that caused them to migrate or something like that! I LOVE these topics. My Bf’s dad is a genius with this stuff. He was a professor and teached all this stuff. My mind is always blown!

i def wonder about life on other planets; we’re only in one of the grillion galaxies so surely there must be life elsewhere! just don’t come to earth if you’re into destruction etc okthanksbye.
i would LOVE to know how the pyramids were built (have you seen the latest xmen, lol) and i would just love to see them in general.
i think there is absolutely life on other planets – the universe is too big for us to be the only ones.
i think the dinosaurs were killed by the meteor. thats what my smarty pants husband says.
Oh man, I have thought these things so many times! A few months ago we went to this awesome Radiolab Live show where they explained a theory of what happened to the dinosaurs that made a lot of sense at the time but I can’t sum it up now 🙂
