I’m back and now residing in sunny, sunny San Diego. I can’t believe how little I’ve been able to post the last few months; it feels so good to be moved and getting back to a routine. I thought there is no better way to get back into the swing of blogging than to join in for Kathy’s Humpday Confessions.
So here is just a whole lot of randomness for you:

- It’s SO SO very hot here in San Diego. All we heard from everyone is how perfect the weather is and how unusual this is…I’m melting, melting!! We were also told that storms and rain were a rarity, but not even a week in, and we experienced our first storm. Lies, lies, all lies 😉
- I’m still organizing and pictures need to be hung, but I have most of the boxes unpacked. I’m so very happy not to be surrounded by boxes!! We still have too much stuff, despite doing quite a lot of clean-out in NC.

- We ate our first meal cooked at home last night! Roasted chicken (which was a stupid choice since it was a million degrees already without the oven) and a tomato and asparagus salad. Feels good to eat at home after eating out for over 3 weeks.

- I was very proud of Eddie and Sam on our drive across the country. They both did SO well. Sam was actually excited to get into the car everyday. Eddie adjusted to the new environments with zero issues and was good in the carrier. No accidents or upset tummies either. Seriously, they acted like it was totally normal to be in the car for 8 hours everyday. I’m planning a full post on that adventure soon. It was a pretty amazing drive.

- I’m super excited to start exploring San Diego and getting to try ALL the new places!! I’ve decided to start a monthly round-up of our San Diego adventures, so be on the look out starting in October for my Discovering San Diego series. I’ve also been trying to update Instagram regularly with some of our new adventures (and by adventures I mean mostly food) 🙂
That is all for now! Bottom-line: move is over so expect to see more of me around here…you’ve been warned!

You made it! Can’t wait to hear all about San Diego. Don’t worry about the boxes- explore!!
Oh, I know what it’s like to finally be able to cook at home after eating restaurant food all the time–it feels so good!
Aww…you’ve moved to my hood right in the middle of a heat wave!! We were actually in NYC when that crazy storm hit. I was really confused about what was going on!! Hope you enjoy Sunny San Diego. I sure do!!
You made it!! I’m so happy for you! And very proud of your babies, well done Sam and Eddie. Too funny that SD greeted you with rain – maybe it wanted to make the transition easier for you? 😉
i’m so excited to see all your new adventures in SD. Yeah…. I think it’s a matter of expectation. The weather is generally good most of the year.. but then there are some off weeks and everyone there falls apart. haha People never go outside and they’re constantly complaining about the weather too so it’s unavoidable. I was in LA the past couple days and that’s all people were talking about. 😛
YAY! So glad you are settling in and beginning to feel at home — even though it’s really hot. Yeah, the bay area is known for having good weather too, but when I arrived, I was like: WHY IS IT THE HOTTEST THING EVER OUTSIDE? It was like I was living in the sun! It’s calmed down (and now it’s sort of rainy up here, too, haha!) but yeah I know what you mean. Can’t wait to hear more about your San Diego adventures! 🙂
YAY for a smooth move!!
Congrats on the big move! I’m so glad to see your animals made it through the trauma unscathed. HAVE FUN EXPLORING!
yay now hurry up and post more pictures of your place and new city because i want more! jealous of your hot weather, its freezing here!
So happy to talk to you, yea for Eddie and Sam. Look forward to your future posts!!
That is sooo exciting! I can’t wait to hear more about your new adventures in SD!
Congrats on the move! I can;t beleive the pets trveled so well, Mine would have been a mess!
Yes! Congratulations on settling in! xx
Ahh you made it AND you’re unpacked now that deserves a medal! Your furbabies are adorable and can’t believe how well they coped. The journey sounds amazing can’t wait to read more about your adventuring and new start in SD XO
I’m so sorry you got here right in the middle of the worst heat wave I can remember! Ugh, it’s been awful. And about the storm — if you noticed, people were absolutely FREAKING OUT last night — because those really don’t ever happen here! At least not in the city proper!
Can’t wait to read/see more of your drive out! And
Missed your posts! Happy the move went smoothly and I’m excited to hear more about your adventures, especially those that involve food!
Yay! I’m excited to read about your new adventures. I’m glad Eddie and Sam made the trip okay!
Yah! Yah! Yah! First, I’m so happy you’re back. Second, I’m so happy you made it to the happiest place on earth. Third, it’s the rainy season for America right now so I think every place that’s all “It’s sunny year round!” (ie. AZ), is experiencing torrential rain. D. I’m so happy you’re back!
I would love to visit SD!!
WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!! Hooray for finally being moved in. That dinner looks delicious!
ooo san diego!! i’ve heard that it’s such a great city!! it’s def a city i want to visit soon.
Have fun in San Diego! That must be exciting!!
We did the drive from Sacramento to Charleston in August. We took 40 becuase we had to stop in NC for a washer/dryer. Which way did you go?
Although Im sorry you’ve been dealing with heat and rain, I’m glad you dispelled the rumors about San Diego. I was there in November one year and it was pretty fantastic (my husband–who was my boyfriend at the time–was convinced I wasn’t coming back haha). Love that the pets made it ok!! Hope the rest of settling in goes well 🙂
Ok big question have you gone to Stone Brewing yet?
truth. you must go there immediately. (and do the tour! it’s so fun!)
