While I’ve mentioned Sam and Eddie before, I decided an in-depth look would provide wonderful entertainment to add to the interwebs. I mean, who doesn’t love cute animal pictures and general silliness?!? Because, I know the answer to the prior is NO ONE (if you said, you don’t, I question why you are even using the internet), I thought it would be fun to open a little link-up at the bottom for you to share your pet stories too.
I will start with Sam and next week will be Eddie’s turn. It will be the same link-up featured next Wednesday on Eddie’s post too. We are one of those weird families that claim neither the cat or dog team, but enjoy the benefits of owning both 🙂 Have you seen this video around, it’s pretty funny.
Now, without further ado…..Sam, aka Sammy, aka Samuel K. Tomkinson.
Sam is a yellow lab, and is a purebred. P had Sam before we dated, and Sam is 8 years old. He is basically the biggest baby and is the pure definition of a sweet dog. I like to say if Sam was a person stereotype, he would be the dumb surfer dude; blond, cute, energetic, but not the brightest pup on the block. He once laid his head on a cracker he was trying to find.
Here a few funs facts about Sam:
Enjoys long walks on the beach, sunsets, pina coladas….ummm no, just the long walks part.
His own farts frighten him and it runs away from them.
Likes hanging at dog friendly bars (usually breweries) and greeting all the peoples.
Has zero survival skills and P likes to call him a MetroDog. He doesn’t like to have to walk in wet grass or grass that is too tall. Remember the cracker, he is probably one of the least observant dogs alive, he realizes things about 10 minutes after they happen.
Loves to “hug”, he wants to be in full body contact with anyone petting him and leans his whole body on them. He also gives actual hugs at night and in the morning (this is something he does on his own). He sits down and reaches his front paws up to you.
Will do basically anything for a treat, but sometimes skips meals.
Prefers people over other dogs. He’s very people oriented and thinks that everyone should say hello to him and are over at our house to pet him. Why else would they be at his house?!?
While not the brightest in most areas of life, he does have an expanded vocabulary and knows:
- bed
- walk
- treat
- downstairs (which now we don’t have two floors so he just runs out of the room he is currently in)
- sit/lay down…basically all done as one movement
- shake
- leave it
- high-five
- off
Has to wear the hannibal-lector (gentle leader) for walks because he can be hard to handle. He says it’s embarrassing and demands it removed immediately upon stopping.
Is terrified of Siri and hates beeping or clicking noises.
He’s most jealous of the cat.
His biggest wish in life was that he was a little dog.
What other questions do you have for Sam? Cat or Dog person?
I’m also joining the lovely Miriam for her link-up today. Because, I don’t always blog, but when I do, I host and join link-ups 🙂
