Every time I read a post put forth by another childfree blogger it makes me feel lighter and reminds me how important it is to put those feelings and thoughts out there. I love to read the comments and always feel that sense of, “this is why we write”, as people relate and are reminded “hey you aren’t alone or you aren’t the only one”. That’s one of the wonderful things about blogging, it connects us to others. For those of you feeling you might be the only one not on the mommy train, here are a few blogger who have written recently on being childfree:
Bailie, The Hemborg Wife
I feel a particular affinity with Bailie’s story/life path. I feel like her and her husband are a bit similar to P and I; being adventurers at heart, and just seeing where the road of life leads. Plus they like the good beer 🙂
Miriam, The Farm Girl
As you guys have read before, I’m a total fangirl of Miriam. Her honesty and openness is so refreshing. Love you M 🙂
Jessica, Jessica L. Blog
Jessica’s path is a tougher trail, but she shows you don’t always know where life leads. It is so open of her to share her story, and I know her story will touch the hearts of all who read it.
I was inspired by their sharing and wanted to make sure their stories were not missed. It’s hard for me to think of topics on childfree to share on a regular basis myself, but I always want to be a reminder to others out there, you are not alone. Thank you Bailie, Miriam, and Jessica for reminding us!
Long time not talk. Well, not really. Thank you for helping me connect with other childless, but free and happy people! LOL! We need to do ice cream and pizza in yours and Esther’s hood- although these next two months might be difficult for me to meetup. -Jess L
We totally need to do that!! I understand being busy though. I can’t believe how fast this year has went by! Let me know when you have time, and we can try to schedule something!
I’ve never written about it mostly to stick it to people who want to know if we are or aren’t and why. We’re not and none of your business. LOL
That’s a good answer too 🙂 It’s such a rude question for people to ask.
I wrote once on my blog about not my husband and I not wanting kids. It is always comforting to hear other couples who feel the same way.
Yes, I love getting to meet or “meet” other couples who are living a similar lifestyle. It’s so nice to know there are more of us out there 🙂
I believe I have a similar post coming up! It’s been in my drafts forever. I am always so glad to find that there are other child free not childless couples.
Looking forward to reading it CeCe! I think it’s great for more women to share their stories and to let other women know, hey, not all of us are destined to be mommies.
thank you for sharing these blogs! i don’t have kids but do want them one day (just not right now!) but i love to read others opinions and stories (i’m nosy like that).
It’s always nice to know there are other options out there and of course it’s not to be alienating to anyone not doing the whole childfree thing 🙂 It’s good to be nosy 🙂
Thanks so much for featuring us here! You’re an amazing cheerleader, so encouraging!
You and S openly talking about your choice of a childfree life gave me the courage to write about this topic myself. Before that I was too scared – I didn’t want to offend anybody, but also wasn’t sure if I could handle the criticism I was convinced would come.
Finding others who don’t want kids was huge for me. It’s still the more unusual choice for women, and I definitely struggled with it for a while. When everybody around you gets pregnant and starts families, it’s nice to know that there are women out there like us, who chose a different path.
Being accepting of everybody’s life and choices is the goal here, and I hope we can contribute towards it by sharing our stories!
I’m so happy I found you! Love you ❤
Thank you for writing your post!! I’m so happy to have gotten to get to know you!! You provide so much inspiration. I have a post coming soon a bit about it, but weren’t you the one that mentioned Jeff Goins? I just read his The Art of Work, and it totally changed my mindset. I’ve found a direction to move in!!
You have?? That’s spectacular!! Can’t wait to hear about it! Yes, I did a post about him last year, found him through another blogger. He’s great, isn’t he? I’m subscribed to his newsletter, it’s good!
Isn’t it the best when you find a post and/or a blogger that has you nodding along with what they said? Blogging is a great way to find those connections! I (as you know) am on the not-childfree path and I feel incredibly blessed and thankful to be where I am on that path. Overall, I love it when people are just true to themselves and living the way they want to live – whether that’s with kids or without!
Yes, it’s always a good feeling. Yes, you are certainly well off the childfree path 🙂 and that is great!! I absolutely love to see the “real” side of people, and them showing their honest selves.
Thank goodness for other people who don’t want kids 🙂 I don’t ever talk about it on the blog, because some sensitive sally is going to roll in with ‘omg i’m trying to conceive and i cant and this post is sooo mean’ and I ain’t got time for that nonsense. I love having no children, it’s fabulous and we have money and can do what we want and live where we want and travel when we want and get hammered and not come home til 5 am when we want. What’s not to love?!
I know, it’s pretty awesome! I think that is why I have a hard time writing on the topic, because I’m all like I eat, drink, and sleep when I want. It feels like gloating 🙂 When I started my blog I knew I wanted to put the topic out there. I followed so many bloggers who turn into mommy bloggers (which I 100% understand, if I had a kid I would totally be all about that topic too, it takes over), but it always made me feel a bit on the outside. I just wanted to put it out there the different lifestyle I was choosing, in case others felt a bit left out too 🙂
Awesome post. I love Bailie and Miriam’s honesty 🙂 Glad you are sharing these stories!!
Thank you Isabel! I’m so glad Jessica, Bailie, and Miriam shared their stories and I’ve gotten to know these lovely ladies through their blogs 🙂
I agree I always think of us as similar! It is so great to read others stories and share our own!
I loved your post Bailie! Of course you and F are more adventurous than us…I’m so jealous of your European adventures 🙂 Have you announced the new destination yet?
Wonderful of you to take the time to recognize others in a childfree lifestyle. I myself have chosen childfree and even though we know there are plenty of us out there, it is refreshing to see you recognize and praise them for their life decisions. We all get to make our own choice and it’s nice knowing there is this online community of support.

I think it’s always nice when you are reminded that you are not the only one making certain life decisions, struggling with similar issues, or there is just someone out there that you can relate to. When many of your IRL friends or your blogger friends are consumed into mommyhood, it’s nice to know there is a group of women out there you can relate to and not feel out of place.
to each his own. kid or no kid, no one should be judged based on their decision on how they want to live their lives!
Very true 🙂 There is always something for someone to nitpick if they are so inclined…oh you only have one kid, oh you have 5 kids, oh you have none. Some people are just that way.
I love how blogging connects us with like-minded people!
Before I started blogging, I never imagined how many great people and real life friends I would make from it. It’s pretty awesome 🙂
