Maximize Your Month + September Goals

August 31, 2015 by Mariah 33 Comments

September-Maximize-Your-Month

OMG guys is it really already September, how is this even possible?! This month marks one year that we have lived in San Diego!! I can’t believe we have been here a year, I really and truly can’t, it does not feel that long. I still feel so new here and we still have so much to see and do. Needless to say this month FLEW by and I kind of sucked on my goals….

August Goals

Have a great time on the two trips we do have planned to Palm Springs & Denver. Plan trip to SF in September (for reals) or decide it will be pushed to next year??
Well, of course I enjoyed my two trips!! That was a given right? 🙂 Palm Springs was HOT HOT HOT, both days 120. Which actually worked out and we just lounged by the pool and took it easy, perfect for our anniversary trip. We just got back from our trip to Denver and of course it was wonderful, we got to spend the whole weekend with some of our fantastic friends. San Francisco is being pushed to October, but we did pick dates!! Now to figure out what to eat, drink, and do there.

Step up the Fitbit game. Walk Sam at least 3 days a week for 1 mile.
Meh! Not so much. I did good for a few weeks and then nosedive.

Make sure to keep up with yoga or other fitness activity, goal 4 times a week (not including the above mentioned walks).
Pretty good, a few weeks only 3, but better than zero 🙂

Work my ass off towards my new project, I know vague but I’m not ready to share more….my goal will be able to share more next month!! I have a huge to-do list already written up 🙂
I was not quite as focused as I had hoped, but I’m making progress. My secret goal was to be able to share the new website, but that just did not come together. I’ve certainly been working on it and I don’t feel too bad on this goal, it just slower than I would like. It’s a process. I’m a bit stuck on the logo part, so it’s hard to move forward with the website and other branding elements.

September Goals

This month’s goal list is short because….

  • We are moving! Part of my distraction in August is that we are currently moving this week. Just a few blocks up to a new house, so nothing too big. Anyway, at least a week plus in September will be dedicated to the move and unpacking.
  • Work on Bloom Hustle & Grow! Yep that’s the name. My main goal is to have the website completed. There are tons and tons of to-dos with that and other things, but that is my big goal for the month. Sharing this SCARES me, but I’m doing it. I just have to dive-in and try.
  • Keep exercising! This has been a goal item this whole year, and I’m keeping it up here. For me it’s important to have it down and for me to stay accountable. It’s so easy when there is so much going on to say “oh I don’t have time” or “don’t feel like it” or “I’ll do it tomorrow”. I’m going to keep my goal at 4 times a week.
  • Plan SF! There are so many wonderful food options, it’s so hard to narrow it down!! If you have been to SF or live there, what is the #1 restaurant you would recommend?

What are your goals this month? Join me and these lovely ladies to Maximize Your Month!

The month of August wasn’t a good one for me. I will leave it at that. I am back to the grindstone this month though. I am back to exercising and I am nearly finished my memoir that I see the end in sight. I think I will have it completely written by next week which is so exciting!
Congrats on the new website. Love the name and I look forward to hearing more about it. With regards to moving, I know how it feels. The house we bought is located only twenty doors down from where we rented and it was still so much effort to move.
And I didn’t know you co-hosted a monthly link-up now. I need to participate next month as I feel I need some organization and focus for October.

Hi Constance!! I’m so glad to see you back around the blog world 🙂 You certainly deserve and should take all the “down” time you need. Be easy with yourself. That is wonderful news you are almost finished with your memoir!!! How exciting!! I’m wishing you the best of luck and much healing in the coming months. You should SO join us next month.
Yes, moving was a pain and very time consuming. And then when it was done, I promptly got sick. I’m finally on the mend (fingers-crossed).

Yup, I’m cheering you on with the exercise bit. Go go! Anyway, I’m new at Maximise Your Goals, so I thought I could pop in and say hi, and hopefully you can visit me too 🙂 And good luck on the move. And San Francisco is an amazing place to visit. Nutty weather though 😉

I’m so excited that you shared the name and are starting to finally put it out into the world!! 🙂 Can’t wait to see the site!! 😀 Every time we go back to SF, we still can’t figure out what to eat!! Sometimes too many options can be difficult.. but a good thing at the same time! 🙂 I’m excited for your trip too!! I’m gonna have FOMO seeing all the food you eat. 😛

Happy one year in San Diego! Good luck moving this month! It’s definitely touristy, but I love Boudin in San Francisco at Fisherman’s Wharf. The sourdough is amazing, and they have a neat museum about the city too!

Exciting! All of it — your trips, the move, and your new business! Building the website and figuring all that out is definitely a process (one I’m still in the middle of over a year after I started…). Good luck!

Ack! No, it is not September yet, and summer is not over, and where the hell did my year go???

I LOVE the sound of Bloom Hustle & Grow! Can’t wait to see the design! Congrats on all that you accomplished for August and keep up the momentum! Just don’t speed up our year more than it has been already…

That must be where I left all that time. It’s funny – when I’m out traveling and working, it feels like it goes quickly, and yet two weeks go by at a time!
