Clear The List: November Goals

November 1, 2015 by Mariah 24 Comments

Clear The List a linkup of goal setters

Another month, another list of goals šŸ™‚ Join me and my co-hosts, Esther from Local Adventurer, Lindsay from Lindsay Does Languages, and Shannon from Eurolinguiste in encouraging each other in reaching our goals, and #clearthelist. Linkup your goal setting post below and cheer your fellow bloggers on with their goals.

Clear The List

October was a pretty good month, though I did not successfully get it all checked off. Let’s see how I did on the October Goals:

Habit Tracking

October Daily Tracker

Some of these I did great on, and some well, clearly not so much. Yoga and my 365 photo project I feel really good about. I love Instagram:) and really enjoyed getting back to posting there. The whole walking thing and morning routine I sucked at this month. I’m going to keep the habit tracker going and adding ā€œcommenting on 5 blog postsā€ as a habit as well. Also, I know it is a total mess, maybe next month I will be able to be neater. I considered re-doing it to be pretty, but…

Bloom Hustle Grow…press go

  • Publish website Bloom Hustle Grow…I did it!! You guys can take a look
  • Start marketing…I actually have a lot more to get in place, before I wanted to start really focusing on marketing.

FBB

  • Get back to blogging schedule (2 a week)…FAIL
  • Get back to reading & commenting…FAIL

Create/Learn

  • Recipe post…I did the Pink Peppercorn G+T. I love taking cocktail pictures!
  • Take one Skillshare class…FAIL

Organize

  • Get office as organized as possible (at least to where I want to work at the desk again)…It’s much better, I think it is pretty good. Sitting down working in there, well….

Discover

Get back to exploring San Diego!! We need to get back out there:

  • Use Groupon for kayaking….Totally did this, even though our first attempt was rescheduled because of rain.
  • Go for a hike…Yes, and it was killer. Short but hard. My ankles were killing me for days after.
  • Dinner at The Smoking Goat…Did it, but meh.
  • One new brewery…Of course we did šŸ™‚ You can see where we went in this month’s Discovering San Diego.

November Goals

Bloom Hustle Grow

  • Market Market Market…try to get my first client.
  • Work on Social Media for BHG.

FBB

  • Get editorial calendar worked out and work on posts, again 2 a week.
  • Keep engaged on Social Media.

Create/Learn

  • Cocktail Post
  • Skillshare Course

Life

  • Try working from coffeeshop or other space at least once a week. I think this might be a good strategy for me to try out to keep me focused on more ā€œboringā€ tasks.
  • Meet P for lunch or breakfast at least once this month. Go to weeknight dinner at one new restaurant.
  • Plan a trip
  • Start a health journal + time tracking. After reading I Know How She Does It*, I was inspired to track my time for the month of November. I want to be more intentional with how I’m using my time. So, this is the first step. I think I’m going to use a combination of the Hours app and paper.

What are you looking forward to in November?

November Monthly Goals

November 3, 2014 by Mariah 16 Comments

November-Goals-2014

It’s truth time! Let’s see how well I did on my October Goals:

Do yoga or run/bike at least 3 times a week
Not exactly. I made this a little too vague. Does it count as a run if I only run part of the way or bike a mile? I certainly was more mindful about getting up and moving but it was not all intentional exercise. My November goal in this area is a bit more specific. I want to be intentional about doing exercise.

Complete 5 design/code Skillshare classes
Yes, for thisĀ one. Even though I did not finish the Webmaking 101, I did do two classes in Codecademy plus the Webmaking 101 is really long.

  1. Finished first two courses on Codecademy
  2. Design for Print: Stand Out with Specialty Printing Techniques: by Ross Moody
  3. Introduction to HTML: Build a Portfolio Website: by Jenn Lukas
  4. Introduction to CSS: Add Fundamental Styles to a Portfolio Website by Jenn Lukas
  5. Started Webmaking 101: Build your own Website with HTML, CSS, Javascript and WordPress by Brenton Strine

***All of the links for Skillshare are referral links meaning if you sign up I get a free month and you can too, I do not have any affiliation with Skillshare, this is an offer to all users. I highly recommend both of Jenn’s classes for a great introduction into HTML and CSS.Ā

Take at least one photography class
Fail, Fail, Fail šŸ™‚ This is going back on the November goals.

Finish website redesign
Not finished but certainly made progress. I still have some work to do but I got it started. This also was too broad of a goal. Stupid, principle of SMART goals being right and all šŸ™‚ I’mĀ sharing specific items from my blog to-do list for November goals.

Choose Your Own Adventure Challenge~ Food

Try making chia seed pudding, this is something I’ve been wanting to try for ages
Tried it, here is a picture just to prove it šŸ™‚ I’m not a huge fan. I think I’ll stick with overnight oatmeal. It tasted fine, it was a texture thing for me. The texture was a bit too jello like for my taste.

Chia Seed Pudding

Make fresh pasta
Didn’t happen. I’m going to blame it on the weather. Hello, 80°F in October, that is beach time not making pasta time. Maybe this month! I would really like to make some raviolis to freeze.

Make something with pumpkin (to at least acknowledge the season)
Another total fail. We did make some yummy butternut squash lasagnaĀ and that is almost like pumpkin šŸ˜‰ Right, right? Partial credit??

You can check back Thursday to see some of the other reasons I did not complete my food challenge šŸ™‚

November Goals

My November Goals are less vague and more specific. We will see how I do with that.

  • Complete new about page for the blog
  • Complete category designs for the blog
  • Do two exercise classes a week either at home or elsewhere (1 hour)
  • Take Sam for a mile or more walk at least once a week
  • Take 2 photography classes, I’m doubling down on this one
  • Finish at least three Skillshare classes and two projects from past classes
  • Do one off computer skill, either sewing, knitting, or drawing project/class

I’m linking-up with Melyssa at the Nectar Collective to share my monthly goals

The Nectar Collective

I’m going to join in the Choose Your Own Adventure Challenge again with this month’s theme of organize. Who doesn’t need more organization in their life?

Not Entirely Perfect

To be better organized I want to finish setting up the office:

  • Order desk chair
  • Finish hanging pictures
  • Finish unpacking items

What goals do you have for November?Ā
