Lips
True story, after switching to natural lip products, I’m not nearly as addicted to them. Before switching my lips would sometimes feel dry and a little like they burned if I was not applying Chapstick every hour. After switching I don’t feel the need to apply balm so often. My lips still get dry in the winter and I like to apply balm in the morning, maybe after lunch, and before bed, but not throughout the day like before. I really urge you to look for a product that is petroleum free, because that is apparently what causes your lips to feel the need for more product.

Nails
Nail polish is listed as one of the worst beauty products for toxins. The ones listed below are supposed to be less toxic, and better for the environment than the traditional brands. I have worn polish on my toenails nonstop since I was in Middle School. Within that time period I have went a day or two without painting my nails but that time would not even add up to a month. I like my toes painted, end of story. While I have switched brands, I have not done a ton of research into this area, because I’m not giving up polish and I don’t want to think about it. If I get a pedicure, I cheat and use whatever the salon carries; there are few salons in our area that carry cleaner products. I just read an interesting blog post on Pemberley Jones about how she brings her own supplies to the salon. I’m not sure I’m quite that brave, but it is a damn good idea 🙂
PRITI NYC: this is the brand I have gone with, mainly because it was one of the first ones I discovered. Their polish stays well, the remover is a bit harder to use than traditional remover, but it works. You have to let the remover sit on the nail for a little while (maybe a minute) for it to work best. Side Note~I love their crystal glass nail file-LOVE!
